What a week!!!

We had an amazing and blessed Christmas and Max did a great job handling the excitement of the holidays!!! It was fun to see everyone and to give and receive gifts! Max is so darn spoiled by everyone who loves him!!!

However, Sunday after Christmas Max came down with the flu bug. Whatever stomach bug it is that is going around-Max got it. Poor little fella. He's bouncing back alright but man it took alot out of him!!!

So all in one month he's experienced his first ear infection and first stomach bug. Yuck!!!!

Here's to 2009!!!!

Christmas Card Pictures...the rejects!!!

If you got a christmas card from us this year- you won't recognize any of these pics. We did these pictures the night before we realized Max had double ear infections!!! Needless to say he wasn't a happy camper!!!

I had such good ideas and great intentions. Oh well....

And this is my answer as to how you have a christmas tree with a toddler!!!

Several updates!!!

We did confirm molars after that last post- and now Max has 3 of them!!! 3!!! Molars stink...and well, so do ear infections!!! Max had a fever about 2 weeks ago with no other symptoms. We decided to get it check out and he had double ear infections!!! He did his course of antibiotics and acted really funny monday night. We took him back to the pedi not sure if it was ears or molars or what- we got a script just in case we need to fill it (so we don't end up at children's on Christmas day!!!) but so far he's been perking up!!

I can't believe how he's changing and growing. He's on his feet all the time now. He only crawls when he wants to get somewhere in a hurry. He's been going to Grandma & Papas on the weekends Jas and I both work. He spends the night and Great grandma's and is doing great with it!! He's such a big boy!!!

He loves the christmas tree. We have it gated just for safety. It's an 11 foot skinny tree so it wobbles a tiny bit...I fear a toddler can take it down!!!

We're so excited for Christmas tomorrow seeing all of the cousins and family and showing off how ig Max is!!!

molars???

I think Max's one year molars are coming in. He's been a little warm, drooly and fussy the past few days!!! We did an early bedtime tonight so I'm hoping that does the trick!!!!

I guess there is a scene in Star Wars (I'll confess I've never seen it) where Yoda is on Luke's back as he's training him.....Jason wanted to re-enact it using the Ergo...

Max didn't.

You can tell he's starting to get tired....

He did look pretty darn cute in the costume. We may have to try again friday night before mommy heads to work!!!

Lots of steps!!!

Max is taking lots of steps!!! He cruises between toys and the couch or the tv and even between us!!! It's just a matter of time before he takes off!!! It's exciting and crazy scary all at thae same time

We're hoping to take some Halloween costume pics tonight to post tomorrow!!! Any guesses as to what my little man will be for Halloween? (here's a hint-it's a character from daddy's all time favorite movie!!!).

First Haircut!!!

We went through about 4 of them!! Root beer was his favorite!!
(he didn't actually eat all four- when the stick would start to get soft we'd have to switch it out!!)

And he even went to the big boy barber with Daddy!!!

Sorry we look so disheveled. It was hot in there and daddy hadn't gotten his hair cut yet!! Max had to strip down out of his clothes to get all the hair off!!!

All in all he did great!! He didn't like the clippers but other than that...he was fine. He didn't have a video to watch or anything...just kept eating the suckers!!! He looks like such a big boy now!!!

He's ONE!!!!

Yes-I've been neglectful still. I'll try to catch up next week, I promise I will. But first things first- MY BABY BOY IS ONE!!!

We made the mistake of trying to do pictures before his bottle this morning since daddy has to go to work and mommy has to go to bed because she works tonight!!

And this is what he thinks of these chair pictures..."I've had enough!!"

Mr. Max- Mommy and Daddy love you so much and you've been a delight this year. Thanks for being so patient with us as we learn how to be parents!!!

Max is doing great with everything. He's standing all the time and getting very close to taking steps. He crawls everywhere and gets into everything!!! He's tired of letting us feed him but only will feed himself cheerios!! We're working through food now!! He's also ready for whole milk-we'll probably start that transition next week. His one year appointment is Tuesday so I'll be sure to post his stats!!!

He's his daddy's boy-definitely favoring him when we're both in the room. It's ok though-Daddy loves it. He'll cuddle fine with mommy though too. He really is a delight-such a good kid!! It's only rough when he's teething or bathtime!!! (bathtime is a crap shoot!!!-sometimes he loves it, other times he hates it!!!).

Neglectful Blogger

We have a crawler!!!

Yes folks-after months of worrying-we have a crawler-just shy of 10 months old!!
It's so exciting to watch him figure things out and he's doing great!!! It's obvious that Max decided to crawl when he was good and ready-not a minute too late!!!
With this new milestone comes new issues though-I think I've read that with newfound freedom of crawling comes new fears. Max is uber clingy but doesn't want to be held - it's silly really. He screams if we set him down and walk away (not that we'd ever walk that far). But pick the boy up and all he does is squirm!!
We're learning more and more about his personality. Max is back to liking his stroller (after a little stroller strike stint). Depending on the day (and possibly the alignment of the other planets and how far we tilt our head) he doesn't like his high chair. Really, there is no rhyme or reason to it!!
He loves to stand and does it as much as possible-which leads us to believe that walking isn't far behind. I don't know if I'm ready for all that!!!

Home from Vacation-and exhausted!!!

We went to Aunt Carol and Uncle Bernie B's in Buffalo for a few days and had a great time!!! Here are some picture highlights....we're so tired-hopefully we'll add some details soon. Sorry it's been so long since I've blogged!!!

He was so great on the vacation!! I'm so proud of him. We're actually getting really excited now for our next vacation....camping on Drummond Island, Michigan in August with all of Jason's family. Too bad that car ride won't be 5 hours like this one was.
